Waxwing today

We are taking our first appointments in City of Los Angeles neighborhoods on the Westside and in the Valley. Sending your dates asks us to confirm one of them. A visit is fixed only when you click Keep this date in our confirmation email, and payment arises only after the visit, through the pay link in your photo report.

Asking costs nothing

A request for dates, or a place on a city list, is free. It is not a contract and it carries no charge. Reply cancel to any email from us and the request is withdrawn; there is nothing to undo.

Should anything about the service change in a way that touches your request, you will hear it from us by email first.

The Standing Detail

Waxwing arranges mobile car detailing wherever your car is parked inside the City of Los Angeles. It opens with the Baseline Detail, a full deep detail, and carries on as the Standing Detail: one visit a month in a weekday window you choose, with every third visit a deep one.

One detailer is assigned to your car and kept on it. If they are away, we email you the name of the person coming at least a day before. The schedule, the checklist, the photographs and the bill are ours to manage, and we answer for every one of them.

The detailing businesses

The work itself is done by independent Los Angeles detailing businesses. Before one joins us, we check its City of Los Angeles business tax registration and its insurance certificate (general liability, plus garagekeepers coverage for cars in its care), and we watch it complete a full trial detail to our checklist. Your confirmation email names the business, your detailer and the business’s insurer before the visit. Any task that calls for a license or permit goes only to a business holding one.

Prices, and how long they hold

Prices are published by the size of the car and hold for every request sent through February 28, 2027. A price is never raised after the fact, and your confirmation states the price of your visit before you keep the date. A second car at the same address is $20 less a month. Heavy dog hair is $35 on visits that need it, and your detailer asks first.

Paying after each visit

Payment falls due after each visit, through the pay link in your photo report. There is no deposit, and no card is needed to choose your day. Our card processor takes the payment; we never see or keep your full card number. If automatic payment is ever offered, it will need your separate agreement, plain terms and a way to cancel online.

Pausing and leaving

The Standing Detail runs month to month with no minimum term. Pause or cancel by email any time before your next visit is scheduled. Visits are scheduled seven days ahead, so a note a week before your day is enough, and leaving costs nothing.

Rain on your day moves the visit to the nearest dry slot at no cost.

When something isn’t right

If anything on the visit checklist was missed, reply to your photo report within 48 hours. Your detailer comes back to fix it at no charge, usually within three service days, and if the return visit doesn’t put it right, that visit is free.

If something is damaged, report it within 24 hours with a photo. The claim goes to the detailing business and its insurer named on your confirmation, and Waxwing stays on it with you until it is settled.

Where we work, and getting in

Visits take place on private property only: driveways, carports, private garages and building garages that allow outside vendors, never a public street. If a building asks for a certificate of insurance, we arrange it with the detailing business before we confirm. Office garages are weekdays only, during building hours.

For the inside of the car, you choose: leave it unlocked in your garage, hand over a spare fob, or meet your detailer at the start. If a car is too muddy or sandy for a rinseless wash, your detailer says so before starting, does the interior and offers a date for the outside. You are not billed for work that was not done.

Not part of the service

These are not offered. If you need one of them, we will say so and suggest where to look.

• Paint correction (machine polishing out scratches and swirls)
• Ceramic coatings, paint protection film and window tint
• Dent or wheel repair and headlight restoration
• Engine bays
• Odor or smoke remediation, mold or biohazard cleanup
• Exteriors caked in mud or packed beach sand
• Boats, RVs and fleets
• Any work on a public street

How far our responsibility goes

This website is offered as it stands. Where the law permits, Waxwing is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. None of this overrides your rights under consumer protection law.
